The Department of Health Professions is inviting applications for a 9-month, tenure-track position with the rank of Assistant Professor in the Program of Nutritional Sciences. The role of the faculty member will be to teach undergraduate courses in the Nutritional Sciences Program such as, but not limited to: Basic Nutrition, Food & Culture, Introduction to Nutritional Sciences, Health Careers Professionalism, Community Nutrition, and other courses as assigned. Position requires on-site and online teaching knowledge and skills. Other responsibilities include advising undergraduate dietetic and nutrition students, representing the program to the general public through participation in professional organizations, scholarship, evaluation, recruitment, serving on committees and participating in official activities at the program, department, college, and university levels, and other assigned duties. What You’ll Do: The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for providing individualized nutritional assessment, care, and education to patients, families, and the community. This is a split position between outpatient and inpatient clinical. 24 hours per week will be spent working with outpatients in the only Hepatobiliary Clinic in the Tulsa area! This Dietitian will be working closely with Dr. Royall and Dr. Bergquist to develop the best outpatient nutrition program for these patients. The other 16 hours per week will be working with the inpatient dietitians at Hillcrest Medical Center. This is a great opportunity for flexibility and growth within Hillcrest and Utica Park Clinic. We are willing to train and grow a Dietitian who is interested in making a difference for the Hepatobiliary patient population in Tulsa!

The successful candidate will be able to:

Registered Dietitian I, Clinical Nutrition, M-F Days, Part-Time (20 hrs)

This position will support the growing healthcare team for patients of all ages with Inborn Errors of Metabolism followed in the Genetics clinic at both AC-Little Rock and AC-NW Springdale.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provides medical nutrition therapy (consultation, nutrition assessment, education) in assigned patient areas.
Performs nutrition assessments for assigned patients.Follows the progress of each assigned patient as indicated by condition. Works with the medical team to provide optimal nutrition care for the patients.Supports clinic coverage in assigned areas. Participates effectively and professionally in medical team rounds, in patient care conference and with clinic staff.
Writes therapeutic diet orders within scope of practice.
Communicates effectively with patients, attending physicians, residents, department co-workers, other hospital staff, dietetic interns and medical students. Functions as part of the multidisciplinary medical team.
Identifies nutrition related issues and obtains assistance/referrals for complex problems. Makes referrals to and communicates with the local health care team.
Teaches patient and/or caregivers needed information about diet, feeding regimen, or other needed nutrition information prior to discharge or during outpatient consultation.Adapts interactions and teaching styles to the learning needs of the patient and/or caregivers. Demonstrates competency in assigned patient areas
Works with Nutritional Services to ensure that necessary foods are available for assigned inpatients. Procures formula from appropriate sources for patients.
Communicates appropriately information regarding patients, problems encountered, requests for service, suggestions for improvement to the Director or Assistant Director.
Works with dietetic interns as assigned from Intern Coordinator regarding their assigned patient areas.

2. Provides documentation for patient care and professional activities.
Documents all pertinent nutrition in the patient's medical records following Joint Commission standards, ADIME format and departmental policies and procedures.
Ensures that nutrition notes for outpatients are included in the patient's medical record within 24 hours.
Documents in the departmental records a minimum of 12 hours of the Academy of Dietetics and Nutrition continuing education credit in CDR format.
Document attendance at nutrition case studies, departmental in-services and training.
Documents daily charges for patients seen, the procedures and activities performed and the amount of time spent doing each.

3. Participates with the departmental quality improvement activities.
Provides peer review of nutrition assessments and diet orders, as assigned.
Follows all departmental and pertinent hospital policies to ensure a standardized level of care for all patients.
Provides in-service for continuing education as assigned and approved by Director or Assistant Director of Clinical Nutrition.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Required - Master's degree or equivalent degree - Field of Study: Nutrition or related field (Will Consider:Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or related field with 1 year Clinical Nutrition experience and enrolled in a Master's Degree program within six months of employment.)

Registered Dietitian 3 - NICU - PART TIME

Sodexo is looking for a Part Time registered dietitian to join a large clinical team at Baptist Health in Little Rock, Arkansas.  On this 1026 bed campus, there are three hospitals including acute care, rehabilitation, and long term acute care facilities.

Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least 2 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting, performing nutrition assessments on adult patients including those on nutrition support
  • Have experience with the nutrition care process and electronic health record charting
  • Have experience with Nutrition Focused Physical Exams
  • Work well with physicians, nursing, and ancillary staff
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently

Experience with Nutrition Focused Physical Exams is a plus.
