  • Plans and evaluates patient menus to comply with prescribed dietary modifications when needed.
  • Observes patient tray appearance and acceptance recommends changes if necessary.   
  • Prioritizes work-load for optimal time utilization. 
  • Educates patients and families/caregivers on nutrition topics, either individually or in groups.    
  • Documents education appropriately  
  • Enters charges into Meditech in a timely manner if applicable.   
  • Participates in Performance Improvement projects on an ongoing bases as it relates to patient care and patient satisfaction.
  • Contributes nutrition related expertise to discussions, committees, and community programs participates in community activities as appropriate and requested. 
  • Provides in-services for Food and Nutrition staff as well as other healthcare team members. 
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team rounds and discussions. 
  • Assists with the training of students, interns, and staff members in the clinical nutrition area.   
  • Establishes and achieves appropriate professional objectives based on needs of the department and personal goals
  • Assists with the expansion of the outpatient nutrition program and NARMC’s DSMT program.  
  • Assumes responsibility for continuing education (15 hours annually) and professional networking/collaboration in order to maintain expertise in pertinent clinical nutrition topics.  
  • Performs other assigned tasks as requested or required.

Required Preferred Education:

  • Graduate of accredited college with bachelors and/or master’s degree with a major in dietetics or nutrition. 
  • Completion of a dietetic internship or other ADA-approved equivalent.
  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) or Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management

Experience:

  • 2 years clinical combination of inpatient and outpatient ideal

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:

  • Registered with Commission on Dietetic Registration and Arkansas licensure for dietitians.

About You: Zipongo is seeking Registered Dietitians (RDs) to support the comprehensive nutrition care mission of Zipongo, which is grounded in evidence-based clinical nutritional standards including use of a whole food plant based (WFPB) diet. Our Zipongo RDs leverage Zipongo’s digital platform to provide a broad range of nutrition and health related consultations, educational sessions, and training to Zipongo’s clients, partners, and users. Some RD positions will support both in-person and telenutrition services for our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy (MNT) via remote and in-person sessions to patients with a variety of health and lifestyle needs
  • Provide tailored nutrition education and counseling to clients/patients in virtual settings Document care in electronic medical record according to Nutrition Care Process
  • Assist patients in getting the most utility out of Zipongo’s digital platform
  • Manage a panel of clients/patients with a variety of chronic health conditions and backgrounds

Position Summary

  • Provides registered dietitian services in one or more sites according to policies and procedures, and federal/state requirements.
  • The registered dietitian has administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to carry out assigned duties.
