Requirements: *Six months acute care experience strongly preferred *Patient care experience (can be met with hospital-based internship experience) *Completion of requirements by the Commission on Dietetic Registration *RD, LD or Registration and Licensure eligible within 6 months of hire. Dietitian working in a 350-licensed-bed, acute care facility with some long-term care experience available as well. Dietitian will be responsible for assessments, follow-ups, education and any other needs for the patients admitted. Dietitian will be a member of interdisciplinary teams and advocate for patient satisfaction and optimal nutrition while in the hospital. Hospital offers a variety of patient conditions, such as nutrition support, wound care, chronic disease and long-term care. Opportunities available in Outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy as well. With patient satisfaction in mind, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team as the nutrition expert and ensure JCAHO, state, federal and company standards are achieved. Job Requirements: The Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Health Promotion at Mississippi State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track Instructor position in nutrition and/or food systems beginning December 1, 2010. Duties and responsibilities of the position include: 1) Teach undergraduate and graduate courses. 2) Advise and recruit undergraduate students. 3) Assist with Dietetic programs. 4) Participate in committee work, professional organizations, and university service. Applicants must have an earned M.S. from an accredited university in nutrition, foodservice systems, or a closely-related area and be a Registered Dietitian or RD eligible. Applicants must have demonstrated people skills, experience in nutrition, food service systems, and in education, and be competent in using various methods of technology transfer. Previous teaching and career experience is expected. A PhD in nutrition, food systems or closely related area is preferred.
