Diabetes Update 2012: Improving Standards in Diabetes Care in Hospitals and Long Term Care Settings

Learning Objectives:
*Discuss the challenges of managing diabetes in the hospital and long term care setting.
*Provide an overview of current diabetes management guidelines and recommendations with a focus on
the elderly population.
*Review establishing treatment goals based on the individual patient and national recommendations.
*Discuss the indications for the use of basal and sliding scale insulin.
*Explore practical approaches to eating with diabetes.
Time: 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Cost: $30 or free to employees that are part of the CRH 'Excellence in Education' bulk rate program.
Credits Offered: 2 hours of CEU credit: Nursing, Dietician, and Dietary Managers.
